Sage accounts courses for adults in Merton11th September 2001 I was interviewed at Merton College with the view to teaching Sage computerised accounts courses to adults in the evening. Whilst New York shook that afternoon I was offered the job to start the same evening. So began an interesting line of work. A formal teaching qualification was required and the most accessible was the local Adult College's City & Guilds 7307 Teaching Adults certificate which I completed in May 2002. see my Micro teach here Each term I have taught Sage Accounting Levels 1 & 2 and achieved high pass rates through Pitman Exams. I am however actively looking for the college to use Oxford & Cambridge RSA examining body, whose syllabus is more comprehensive and therefore of higher value to those requiring Sage for the office or workplace. Pitman are currently working on a Level 3 syllabus but they're far from the mark taking a quantum leap from Level 2 to a course content that a full blown accountant would fret over. In January 2003 I began teaching Sage Line 50 to a non vocational class at Merton Adult College and after initial concerns about the lack of a structured syllabus, I have gone on to develop some interesting assignments which I believe provide a full background to Sage for those starting out with the package. Aimed at the sole trader or small business who has been encouraged to use Sage by their accountants I lead courses that introduce Sage as a book keeping tool
